Editorial & medical review process
How the educational content on My Lungs is written, reviewed and kept up to date.
Who we are
My Lungs is published by Esperity (also operating as PatientCentrics), a Belgian company that builds patient and caregiver support tools. We are not a hospital or a medical institution. We do not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.
Who writes the content
Articles are written by our internal editorial team, drawing on patient feedback and on guidance from clinicians and patient organisations we partner with.
How content is reviewed
Where an article has been reviewed by a clinician or by a partner organisation, the reviewer is named at the top of the article along with the date of review. Where an article has only had internal editorial review, we say so explicitly.
We are progressively adding visible reviewer attribution to every article. Until reviewer data is confirmed for a given article, we deliberately leave the field empty rather than imply review that has not happened.
How often we update
Each article shows its publication date, last content change and last review date. We aim to review each article at least every 24 months and earlier when guidance changes.
Sources
We rely on patient organisation guidance (such as Stichting tegen Kanker / Fondation contre le Cancer), national and European clinical guidelines, and peer-reviewed publications. Sources are listed at the end of each article when applicable.
Conflicts of interest
Our educational content is not sponsored by pharmaceutical companies. Where partnerships influence a project, we disclose that on the relevant page.
Corrections
If you spot an error or want to suggest an update, contact us at hello@esperity.com. We act on medically relevant corrections quickly.
